Sherlock is going to learn to say "no" when it comes to grant reviews
and I do love him. As abstract as he is, what he wrote makes the most sense to me of all the gospels.

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that whoever has faith in him may not come to destruction but have eternal life.”
This is the whole of it. The rest is anecdote.
For me, the largest problem is the getting of faith in the face of minimal evidence. I believe strongly in rationalism, but not only is Christian faith non-rational, no form of religious belief can be reached rationally. This may have some bearing on the situation: Jesus has made himself known to the other Disciples, and now he has shown himself to Thomas.
John 20:29 Then Jesus told him “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
