I plan on starting this goal on January 1st and am serious about it to have made it a personal challenge goal. Just don’t have too much fun thinking of ideas for the consequence for failure for this one as I don’t plan on losing it. But if you think otherwise post your ideas below ;-p

Oooh!
Good goal…
Maybe if you don’t get through it, you have to attentively read something else within 90 days. Some of the old Icelandic Eddas are real gore-fests and not particularly pleasant, or you could force yourself to read every Sweet Valley High book you find at the mall. Then again, since a good chunk of Christianity is about forgiveness and redemption, maybe you have to atone for it by doing a good deed.
okay ...
But if that is your vote so is defining what atonement by dong a good deed would be defined as given that it is a bit too broad.

"Good deed"
I don’t know, but it struck me that just punishing yourself by reading something crappy wouldn’t do much good to anyone, you included. How about this—if you fail, you have to flip through the bible to choose a verse at random, then try to find something related to it. If you chose “Jesus wept”, you’d have to help a depressed or grieving man. I don’t know what’s around you or what you’re willing to do, but it was just a thought…
dangerous
... especially with some of the OT passages out there. Leviticus could get you a verse that contains proper instructions for burnt offering animal sacrifice. Joshua contains passages where during the conquest the Israelite were told to kill everything that breathes. The prophetic books also have dangerous passages such as Isaiah was told to preach naked. Ezekiel got a list things to act out to demonstrate instead of preach which would have got him locked up in a mental hospital today shortly into the book. Hosea was commanded by God to marry a prostitute as a sign of the people’s unfaithfulness toward Him. The Song of Solomon is a work of erotic literature which graphically describes the sexual using poetic imagery of the day.

So, how's it going?
I don’t know what to tell you if the answer is, “not so well.”
not so well
Or at least it is not so well for the people that want to have fun with the personal challenge in the event of failure. The reading today went well and I read a bit more than what was scheduled for today so things are gong very well for me.

Oh good...
‘cause by the time you and I figure out how to assign a good deed to you, you’ll be done anyway!
