work less (read all 2 entries…)
New Year Resolution #1 11 months ago

I’ve never had New Year Resolutions but I figured I may as well jump on the bandwagon.

I start back at work tomorrow and am planning on not going in early, not staying back late and not doing work at home unless it is COMPLETELY necessary – and if I do I’ll put it on my time sheet as the first thing I did the next morning and take it easy for however long I spent the night before. Sounds like a plan.

OK, so now the serious side of the goal.

How do I measure success?
I get paid for being at work from 8:30 to 5:30 with an hour lunch break.
I will have successfully “worked less” if I’m at work no earlier than 8:15 and out by 5:45. I’m pretty good with lunch breaks so no worries there.
I’ll log my times in and out for the next two weeks. If I’ve “worked less” 90% of the time I’ll do something exceptional for Australia Day. I’ll have to think about what that will be…..
