I feel like I learned a lot in my drawing class, but I wanted to find a medium in which I felt like I could express myself more. So for Christmas, J. got me a set of decent pastels and a well-regarded instruction book, so I’m going to give it a shot. There’s a pastel class being offered later this spring I can take if it seems to grab me.

have you ever tried it? it’s probably my favorite medium – that and i like to get messy! if you ever need any drawing advice, let me know – i have my BFA and am going to be an art teacher! i’ll need the practice.

i haven’t used them in a while now, but they are possibly my favorite medium.

it’s way easier if you have someone there who knows well how to use them!
