Being in the military, we move around enough and also find our friends constantly coming and new ones coming in. At our last base I made some friends early, but never “replaced” them after they left and found myself a little lonely. On top of this, I have been terrible about keeping in touch with friends who have moved on (despite Facebook, MySpace, email, etc. etc.!!) We are relatively new to this base and have made a few good friends fairly easily through our church, but they will all be leaving within the next 6 months. I definitely want to put in the effort to keep in touch well with them as well as reach out and make new friendships.
