Find a job that doesn't require me to travel
See this little guy? 4 years ago

See this little guy here, that’s my son. I work from home but have to travel due to the type of work I do. He’s only 4, but he knows what it meens when daddy gets on MARTA (Atlanta Transit). It meens that daddy is going to the airport and will be gone for awhile. From the back seat, I hear, “No airport daddy” and my heart crumbles.

The problem is that no office job pays as much as those that require travel. So instead, I’m going to have to find a way to tighten up the budget and make a 9 to 5 job work. Seeing him two or three times a week when I’m on the road alot is really getting to me and it is putting alot of stress on my wife. She and I always help each other out when I’m home; sharing the load has really made life easier for us. But when I’m gone, she has to do it all and I hate that.

I’m going to keep looking and hopefully will find something which will let me spend more time with my family, but until then…...I’ll make the most of the time I have.

I hope you can work something out to achieve this goal. I use to travel away from home 2/3 night a week up until I got pregnant the first time, then I neogiotated a change in my job description.

I just couldn’t do it now, my girls are 3 years and 4 months.

Good luck to you and your family.

Thanks!!

If you want something and are willing to work for it, it will happen. I’ve just got to do some evaluation to make sure that I find something that I will like and will be a good choice for my family.

Thanks again for your Cheer. I really need it on this issue!!

Careful what you wish for :)

Don’t get me wrong, I love to travel…But with him getting older, and the fact that I’ve been doing it for 7 straight years….we’ll you know.

Troy has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
