learn to be still
i can be...still. 10 months ago

This is one of the harder goals that I have set for myself to accomplish because being still is a vague concept. Does it mean just literally the act of your body being still? Maybe it involves your mind being completely still, as in meditation. For me, it was a combination of the two. To be still, I would set aside time, ranging from 5 minutes to a few hours just to be still, or in effect just to “be”. I would start by having my body be still, either lying down or sitting. Then I would try to clear my mind of all the stresses of the day and just go from there. I would let my mind wander over any thoughts, worries, frustrations, and also little joys that might be locked inside. I also in the process taught myself to fidget less, both mentally and physically. All in all, it has helped me focus more and was a very worthwhile goal.
