find a job i actually like (read all 8 entries…)
I have to call

my soon-to-be-ex boss tomorrow to sort out some paperwork. I hate that. Can’t I be fired and that’s it?

Also, I have to stop telling my mother I’m back to work next week.

I have to update my résumé. Which means I have to know what kind of job I want. Which means I have to think about it.

Pheeeew. I think I’ll rather watch Lost.

Comments:

I called my boss.

Turns out I’ll leave with at least four times my monthly income, maybe five. Yeah.

Next step: my mother. And my father, but he’s much more sensible and not likely to lose it.

I told my mother.

She was very frightened at first, picturing her daughter as a dirty beggar under some dirty bridge. Then I explained the ways and means, and she understood I was really relieved and almost happy to be fired. And, more important, that I felt confident everything would be alright.
We ended up having dinner in a nice japanese restaurant with her husband and my wonderful L. Yay.

Another good book!

Hey!

Check out “What Color is Your Parachute?” I’ve bought and given away about haf-a-dozen copies of this book, it’s just brilliant at having you work out what the job or your dreams is and have to get it.

There’s a website too http://www.jobhuntersbible.com/ but you can’t go wrong.

Failing all else, you can tear out the pages and stick them up your shirt for insulation when you move under the bridge!

You buy and give away half-a-dozen copies of all the books you read?

Seriously, okay, I’ll check this out. Thank you!

No way! But I’ve bought this one, read it, got a cool job, given it to a friend, then had a job-crisis, so I’ve bought it again, read it and did the work, got the job, gave the book away… you get the picture!

I’d say good luck with the job, but really, if you use this book you won’t need any luck.

I'll check it out

later today.
Hope it will help, cause I really don’t know what kind of job I want (yeah, I’m 27, so what?)

Yes it will help, in fact it might really surprise you.

Oh don’t worry about your age, I’m 45, and I’ve been through four or five careers, and I still don’t know what I want to do. But I’m having a riot finding out!
