I joined the navy because I thought it would be a great experience and I would be able to use the GI Bill or TA to finish my degree. Boot camp was not that bad but now i’m stuck in Pensacola waiting to class up. I’ve been here since October and i’ve been walking around with a stupid ass brownie pretending to wipe walls. It’s gotten to the point where I just don’t give a shit any more. The navy wastes so much money so they can eventually teach me how to work on jet engines at an eigth grade level. In addition, some of the idiots they recruit make me want to drink myself to death. I hope they cut military personnel by the thousands so I can get the hell outta here. Accelerate my life my ass!

hey i i just read your post and was wondering what rate you are. i just joined the navy and signed my life away as a AT. i saw that you were doing A school out in pensacola which i’ll be doing also. i was wondering if you could give em some insight on what im getting myself into.

Hey my rate is AD. Pensacola was probably the hardest part for me. I don’t know what it’s like now but I was on hold for 5 months. If you can get through that it will be a lot better on the other side.

I also can’t stress it enough. If they let you pick orders no matter where it is pick a squadron. It’s a lot better than living on a ship. I’m currently at a helicopter squadron and to be honest it has changed my opinion about the navy.

Just make it through A school and hope you’re not on hold forever. Because there’s a lot of retards you have to deal with
