become a werewolf (read all 1113 entries…)
What is with this? 10 months ago

Okay, I know that this entry is going to offend some people, but I frankly don’t care. Heck even that picture is offensive (and if you have a problem with blood or get really sick by looking at death or are squeamish, then I recommend you don’t look at it). Personally, it gets me enraged, but it’s to get a point across. I’m sure you can all guess what that point is. Number one, it’s better to be insulted than dead. Number two, I don’t know you and it’s not my job to be nice to everyone just because they want to accomplish this goal. Not everyone will end up doing this and no one can deny that.

Why is it so many young people these days (younger and younger it seems) are coming here and to the therian community begging to become a weresomething? Further more, why is it that almost no one says anything to discourage such a young person as 10-14 from accomplishing this goal? As wolves, aren’t we supposed to love and protect our young as opposed to letting them try and run full tilt into what will almost certainly ruin their life?

Yes, I get that this goal is awesome and I was one of those ten-year-olds trying to do this. Just because you want to do something and think you can accomplish it, doesn’t mean you should. I also wanted to run away and live in the wild from age 10-16 because I just couldn’t take living in the stuffy atmosphere of a rural town. I just had to have it wilder, even made it out the door once. All of you reading this can look at that fact and think how stupid and naive I was back then. I could have gotten killed. I could have ruined my life. I would have been irreversibly harming those who cared about me by leaving them. Anyone drawing any parallels here?

I believe that there’s a reason why I didn’t discover anything real or promising about this goal before I was 17-18. I wasn’t meant to because I couldn’t handle it. I’m pretty sure I can say that no other human that young can either.

When the kids who want to become mermaids come here asking for spells on shapeshifting, a lot of you guys tell them to grow up and leave those of us working this goal alone. Why is it when other kids come here asking for the same things and acting in the same exact way, they are welcomed and encouraged? There is no difference between an eleven-year-old who wants to be a werewolf and an eleven-year-old who wants to be a mermaid. Even us eighteen-year-olds could learn some more about life (sarcasm). Heck, even a thirty-year-old still has a thing or two to learn.

My point is that this is not a game. Nor is it something to be stabbed at by those who are going to change their minds later on. Once you achieve this goal, it’s going to be impossible to change your mind. Yeah, I know what some of you might be thinking: If you can get there, then you can get back. Sorry, but it doesn’t work that way. Once you’ve accepted another animal’s soul into your own, once you’ve bonded with that other being you can’t just back out and say “Nevermind, sorry…get out.” If you thought kicking an annoying roommate out was bad…><

If I come off as a jerk, then deal with it. I’m not going to stop giving you my unfiltered opinion and advice just because it makes you feel bad (starts playing the world’s saddest song on the world’s smallest violin). If you can’t deal with me, then you certainly aren’t going to be able to deal with the life you’re trying to get into. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, “The walls are there to give you the opportunity to prove how badly you want something.”

I believe it is, personally, and that everyone could potentially accomplish it with enough persistence, but we all have our own opinions :) I don’t, however, believe everyone should or will.

I know the photo is inappropriate. That was the whole point. There are pictures like that everywhere and no matter how many people protest, or how often they are removed, it’s not going to change what happened and what will continue to happen. It’s not even going to change the fact that any one of us who achieve this goal is a lot more likely to end up like those four wolves. By that way, they were killed as part of population control, not in some random hunter’s game. Just a bit of a reality check there :P

(No I’m not mad you flagged it, but that doesn’t change the point it’s there to make.)

(This comment was deleted.)

I get how you can be squeamish…but I am curious how a wold can be like that :)

I don’t really want to remove the picture, because people don’t think about this kind of stuff unless it’s there in front of them. A teacher of mine once said it’s easy to ignore the homeless starving on the streets when we don’t see them. It’s easy to ignore murder, even though we know it exists, if we don’t see it or the evidence.

Why are you asking me to take away what’s happened? Removing the picture won’t change what happened to those four wolves and believe me, it could have been a lot gorier. If you research pics of dead wolves, then you’ll know.

Short of it being removed for me, that picture is going nowhere. Death is a part of life. Deal with it or do something about it. We can all sit here and be sad about wolves dying, but nothing will change if no one gets up and does something about it.

Wow…I have to stop writing such long entries like this >< :P

Edit: thanks for cheering the text by the way :D

Which is part of the reason why I put it up there…

You could sign a petition. You could have a bake sale and raise money. You could (yeah this one is a stretch, I’ll admit), if and when you are old enough, join the people working to do something about it. You could even research and see if there you have a local wolf/wolfdog sanctuary near you and volunteer there. So many people get lost in the feeling that they can’t do anything when they can.

Running away from a problem or something that makes you upset isn’t going to make it go away. Learn from it and grow because of it. And no, keeping this picture here won’t change anything for these four wolves, but maybe, just maybe it will spark someone to do something for other wolves who are about to be delisted/are already delisted. It might even make a few people who are trying to be werewolves realize what could happen to them and make them think a little harder about what they are doing.

If it makes you feel better I will put a warning in the original post about the picture…a much better one than is already there. No one has to look at it and I never made anyone, nor will I make anyone.

I know you’re upset, and that’s fine. This picture makes me furious, but the point is to think that those wolves could be you and to remind you that there are more joining the pile everyday.

I don’t want you to shut your mouth/hands and I knew that picture would be taken negatively. It’s hard not to do so. I want people to think and/or act on what they see and hear. So if you want to argue with me or discuss things with me, by all means, do so without a filter. Honesty hurts, but it feels so much better in the end.

Ps. “Could you at least change the picture? >:(” is asking me to remove the picture.

Well said, though I personally feel exempt from those you are criticising ;)

Young people learn with experience. If they’ve been stupid they’ll learn they’ve been stupid. I’ve learnt I’ve been stupid.

I don’t encourage the young ones who want to acheive this goal. More of a neutral “Good for you. Don’t be stupid.”

A lot of people do that too :P Whatever works for you. I personally like to discourage them, because I know they’re A. going to change their minds a bazillion times or B. regret it.

Life is too short to be wasting away childhood :)

LlunaBlue Professional Devil's Advocate

So you’re regretful that you did waste your childhood?

I don’t think I wasted my childhood, but then I spent it being bullied and having ice thrown at my head in high school for not being able to keep my secrets well enough. I learned from that and every other bump I stupidly drove into at full speed. That doesn’t mean I have to watch others do it.

LlunaBlue Professional Devil's Advocate

Well, I feel I understand where you’re coming from a lot better now.

I regret how I was back then. I also dislike it when I’m reminded of how I was back then. It’s all behind me now, and the sooner people are more aware of themselves and their impact upon others, the better.

AlaskanWolf Happy First Day of Winter

Like what Stormwolf wrote above, very well written. I was naive later in 2008 when I joined this goal, and I have learned from many of my mistakes. I’m not saying that I have it all out of the way, because that’s not true. I still have much to learn before really getting into this goal (which means that I’m still naive), and so do many others on here. Yes, I do pretty much have my mind set on this goal, and the wall that is set in front of me from completing this goal just makes me want to complete it even more. I agree that there will be a great amount of people on these forums that will change their minds about this goal (possibly me), but most likely not me. You could’nt have said this any better. :-)

Why thank you. We all have things to learn.

AlaskanWolf Happy First Day of Winter

Yes, we do.

i hope to ler n from u dark wolf am i ready to become a werewolf cause im only 11 plz answer as soon as possible oh and im new to this site

i got school from 8:00 2 3:20 anyway :D

lupusphasmatis feel the love

You are the voice to this goal. I think u need to go write a book or become an orator ( can anyone say marc antony?) XP

IkutaraWolf Alaska is seeming really nice about now...

wow…pretty good way to put it…i remember when i was littler i keep it a secret, so i suppose if you are new to it it could ruin your life…that would seem like naration to me…

Yeah. When we’re young, a lot of us think we can do everything and we get it in our heads that nothing else is ever going to matter. Sometimes it’s just better to wait until you’re older.

Sophielas2 Is wanting to become a Werewolf

Call me thick but was that on the photograph? I hope it wasent what I thought it was…. Cos if it is, Im gonna go mad….

What did you think it was?

Sophielas2 Is wanting to become a Werewolf

It is a wolf? I know what your thinking “how thick could that stupid girl get?!” I really dont wanna be stupid but im really inqusitive (however u spell it) I dont wanna attention seek but It is quite disturbing. But what u said was brilliantly edited and a congratulate u for that. Well done

Synergy ..Still Learning.

Well Said.

You’re right, If you’re at the age of 12-13 and wishing for this goal, it may not be what you want.
You are at the age where you think what you want is what you want, but most of the time it isn’t.
Being a Therian isn’t all fun and games.
You have to keep it secret, No one is able to know about it, Not even your family.
For Humanity fears what they do not understand.
If some scientists found out what you were, they would come to your house, take you, kill you, tear your body apart, then say that you were lying and that you were just mentally ill because their precious science didn’t explain it.
The world isn’t absolute, it isn’t set in stone, it changes.
Everything changes.
We change.
Live outside the boundaries of science,Do what they say isn’t possible, but be cautious, One mistake and you’re dead.

Being a therian isn’t for everybody.
We believe that you cannot be one if you are not born with it.

Sophielas2 Is wanting to become a Werewolf

Thanks. Those bastard scientists simply cannot accept the world around them.

I'm just throwing this out in the open (specifically darkwulf73)

what you say is not true that younger kids shouldn’t be to encouraged but how ever this is the real picture of the world and the #1 question why do we all live? There are dozens of answers but only a few of them are correct answers I can think of 3!!!! 1 of them is to simply just to exist and then there the bad part of it we exist simply to die age will catch up to everyone and death will follow closly behind!!! The 2 answer is to produce so there will always be a new generation and here the bad part each and every generation will die and a new one might take it place. The 3 answer is that everyone tries to be remembered for all generations and here the bad part no matter how much you try you can only make a small difference in history and it will probably never be a major difference in history. to make my point clear on the topic why should we discourage them if all of us will be dead in due time I say let the young waste there life in any way they want especially if they got nothing to lose and less to the young who have planned things out so they won’t be caught or dead (I’m only 14 years old and these words came from my mind. I’m to mature and act way older than than I suppose to) (p.s. I don’t want to be suspended from this site again so if broken any rules I didn’t mean to break it and if ya want me to delete this just respond to me saying to delete I only wanted this to be out of my head)

whoops error on one word (couldn't edit it) the error around

error on around “nothing to lose and less” it suppose to be “nothing to lose and more” (p.s. same thing if ya want this to be deleted then just ask and I won’t question why you want to forget this comment)

Look, part of our purpose here, as you’ve so clearly spelled out, is to reproduce, to leave echoes of ourselves in our children. In this way, we never die. To let those children waste themselves on something they’re likely going to wish they hadn’t done later. I have never met someone who knew exactly what they wanted to do with their lives at even 18, let alone 14. This shapeshifting business effects a lot of what comes later and prevents a lot too. It’s like drinking and making the decision to get in your car and drive home. Sure you might not hit anyone and make it home safe, but you’re very likely to. It takes an adult to fully comprehend that decision and they often fail at it even. If you make it and you shift and some jerk sees you and kills your entire family, that is a result of your decision. It seems so far away and you may think, Oh, I’ll just be careful, but you have to actually act it out. You have to never slip up.

...

That what I’m good at never slipping I managed to avoid death at least 6 times (includes almost getting hit by cars and trucks almost drowning 2 times and surgery) and if some jerk does see me shift then I have 3 choices 1 killing the person 2 leave no evidence behind that I shift or so and the 3 is helping my family run away…and sure the way you put it does seem like we will never die but how ever that’s only in spirit.

darkwulf73 has gotten 8 cheers on this entry.
