He’s the man who has everything, so it’s particularly difficult to get him anything other than experiences.

I took him on his first helicopter ride! For 75 minutes we whizzed through the beaches and cities of Los Angeles, a real treat when you fly over celebrities’ estates compounds. It also happened to be the day of the Oscars, so we got to the see the red carpet from above, very special!

Afterwards, we had a champagne brunch at one of our favorite restaurants in Malibu that overlooks the ocean… Then on Tuesday we had dinner at a restaurant, where I gave him a few books and his first Mont Blanc pen.

I think what makes that day special is that he spends so much time helping and advising others (and spoiling me!) that this is one of the rare opportunities where someone is doting on him.

Only trouble is, I’m not sure how to top this birthday! I’m already sweating next year…
