Last year I received a musical card on my birthday. Last night I found it again and ripped out the workings. The way it works is a plastic tab keeps the connectors from touching while the card is closed. When you open the card the tab is pulled out, the circuit closes and the music (the theme from Star Wars) plays.
This morning after my boss arrived at work and left to see the bosses upstairs, I ran into her office and taped the workings to the bottom of her chairs leg. Then I taped a small piece of paper to the floor under the chair and inserted the paper between the connectors.
When she came back (with one of the big bosses) she sat in the chair, which caused it to move thereby pulling the paper out from the connectors and starting the music. I was in my office across the hall, listening to them trying to figure out where the music was coming from. The best guess came from the big boss, “It’s coming from your lunch!” She called some of my co-workers in to question them about it, but they acted like they didn’t know.
She thought it might have been coming from an office that attached to her’s, so she ran around the corner to check. Quickly, with the big boss still there, I ran in and removed the workings from her chair and hid them in my office. Unfortunately, I left a piece of tape on the floor which she found and knew someone was pulling a prank on her. I had to fess up. Happy ending, everyone laughed and I wasn’t fired. _{maybe next time}
