EDUCATING TO LOVE: Benedictine Perspectives in Teaching
This retreat is for teachers (Kindergarten-College) who would like to integrate and apply Benedictine spirituality into their lives and their educational settings. Topics may include the pedagogical gifts of Parker Palmer and Simone Veil and ‘virtues and chastity’ education. This retreat will include lectures, discussion, break-out ‘interest’ sessions, and hands-on activities.*Retreat participants will have the opportunity to earn 1.5 semester hours of Professional Development Credit from LMU Extension, Loyola Marymount University. This credit is non-degree, and may be used for some professional advancement and to satisfy some credential requirements. This credit is not transferable to academic programs or degrees at LMU. Obtaining advance approval from your institution is necessary, as each district, college, or state has its own policies regarding the types of credit it will accept. The registration fee for LMU is $50, and registration information will be given at the retreat.
