I have been working part-time as a web designer for my boyfriend’s (Dan) company since summer. At the moment I am just doing very simple websites for small businesses and doing the updates for them. I have also been maintaining Dan’s company’s websites. I feel like I’ve progressed a lot since summer and am slowly building up a portfolio.

I definately need to work on my graphic design skills and get good at installing programs such as wordpress and xmb message boards. I have done quite a few websites now so really need to put a portfolio together on my professional personal site.

I have also been blogging on my personal site but I want to start using wordpress on it and keep really up-to-date with the lastest web design trends by integrating things like my twitter and flickr accounts into it.

Later on this year or next year I want to take the CIW Master Web Designer course to teach myself everything properly and especially to learn how to do e-commerce. Now I need to make the jump from being a-girl-who-taught-herself-basic-web-design-skills-at-15 to a professional and advanced skilled web designer.
