Hi All!
How it feels… an interesting question, and such a complex one that I’m writing a book on the matter. In order to try and answer it in the least space possible, I’ll summarize the main points here.
OOBE Lycanthropy
OOBE (Out Of Body Experience) Lycanthropy is a form of Lycanthropy(Werewolfism) in which the person involved has their spirit transported out of their body and their spirit assumes the form of a wolf. This is the most popular form of Lycanthropy, because people are far more comfortable with this than they are with actual physical transformation. It has been quoted by several OOBE Lycanthropes that it can be the most exhilarating experience of their lives, I’ve never experienced it myself.
Clinical Lycanthropy
This is the process of hallucinating (resulting from a mental disorder) that you are transforming into a wolf. This is most often seen in polymaniacs (people with several complex manic psychological disorders) but is, rarely seen in monomaniacs (who can be seemingly perfectly normal people with one complex manic psychological disorder, which is sometimes seldom noticed). I am a sufferer of Monomanic Clinical Zoanthropy (transforming into an animal other than a wolf, in my case, a cat) and I can safely tell you that it can be the most painful, excruciating, terrifying experience that you’ll ever encounter. Here is one of my Zoanthropic Hallucinations (an extract from my journal with obscenities removed):
The zoanthropy hit me like a ton of bricks and when I was least expecting it… At 4:00am.
Boy, was it scary. I woke up in Zoanthropic pain, then, as I stumbled into the bathroom and checked the mirror, my face was covered in fur. My teeth fell out as I checked my mouth. I will never forget the sound they made as they clattered to the floor. Even as I watched they were replaced by sharp fangs. I was wracked with agony so intense that I would rank it the second worst Zoanthropic fit of my life. And as I drifted in and out of consciousness, the pain suddenly ceased.I got up and looked in the mirror. The entire cat ensemble greeted me, ears, eyes, fangs everything.
As fun as this may sound, the experience is horribly painful and terrifying, and no fun at all because nobody can see your transformed self but you and even if they could, it is not worth the agony. I later discovered, through examination of my situation, that this was not a real happening, but a dream, which has now faded into a dull memory.
‘Real’ Lycanthropy
‘Real’ Lycanthropy or, as I have named it, Transformational Lycanthropy is the process of actually, physically transforming into a werewolf. The existence of Transformational Lycanthropes has long been debated, but there is still a chance that they exist. Just bear in mind that Physical Shape-Shifts (or P-Shifts) are almost non-existent in documentation and no account that I have found says that P-Shifts feel anything but ‘weird’ and even that word only came up a few times.
A Little Warning
Religion can be a major issue, there are all sorts of documents out there relating to very dark rituals or dangerous drugs or demonic possession. I can only advise you to stay well clear of such things. Particularly people who believe that Lycanthropes are unholy.
So I leave you with that thought. With any luck, I’ve been of some help. I like to consider myself somewhat of an expert on the matter (taking into account personal experience and many hours of research for my book) If you have any questions, ask away!
