remember my dreams (read all 51 entries…)
finally dream journaling 9 months ago

I’ve known forever that I should keep a dream journal to help me to remember my dreams and to be able to do useful things with my dreams afterwards. But I’ve always been to lazy so early in the morning, so by the time my brain is functioning at a normal pace and I’m ready to pick up pen and paper I can’t remember my dream experiences.
For the past week or so I’ve been writing my dreams every morning, sometimes waking in the night and writing them then. And it’s working marvelously!! I’m remembering many dreams, with lots of detail, sometimes pages and pages! At this rate I’ll be LUCID DREAMING soon, fingers crossed!

what is the draw for

lucid dreams? I don’t know why one would want to have them? I am confused? I guess it is just a part of me that feel that it shouldn’t be forced. You have them or you don’t?

mmmm I’ll have to figure out why people seem to want this in their lives!

hopefully ....

I think that if I become proficient in lucid dreaming, this will be a highly useful way to access my subconscious. I believe that I will be able to look at my fears/self-doubts/weaknesses in the eye (because I will be within my subconscious while dreaming, and it is in the subconscious that these things live and thrive) and essentially perform a direct self-therapy. Or, if not, then the exploring limitless possibilities of dreamlife sounds super cool.

As far as “forcing” it rather than waiting for a lucid dream to “just happen” goes …. well, if you purposefully choose healthy food, are you forcing something? If you exercise daily, are you forcing something? If you study, if you meditate, if you practice a skill ….. it’s just a matter of knowing what I would like to have happen and setting up the right environment. Nothing forced, or at least not more than usual.

Manual cheers!

Whether you eventually lucid dream or not, dream journaling is a great way to learn more about yourself.
