If you get sick a lot, you might want to be tested for the Primary Immune Deficiencies (PI). I have one, IgA Deficiency, and I was sick all the time. It took six year to diagnose it, and the average time from onset of illnesses to proper diagnoses is five years. This can drive a person crazy trying to figure out what is wrong, as well as the drain of being ill constantly. Reading about your sore throats and such, well IgA came right to mind. IgA is the antibody that protects the secreations of the body and if you don’t make enough, ugh. I suffered from horrible sore throats for years. You have my sympathies.
PI is inherited, but it can be a weird little genetic marker that nobody else in your living family has, and it can hit anytime in life, mine didn’t hit until I was older. And you’re right, stress makes it worse (I learned to never get angry, as I would become ill three days later) but most people have stress and don’t get sick. That’s when I suspect there’s an underlying condition.
There are other PIs that could cause this, I would suggest you find a good allergist/immune specialist and have the gamut of tests run. Ask you doc to recommend the best doc in this field and also ask around. There are quite a few uncommon conditions that only a specialist will catch (my doc told me this was only the fifth case he had seen in his entire career).
If you do have it, please contact me as I have found some amazing ways to deal with it that the docs won’t tell you, as they are natural and don’t involve a script. But you need to be property evaluated and diagnosed first.
