a purse! a pencil case! 9 months ago

ok, so it wasn’t such a good idea to photo them against an orange background (it was dark and late and i needed the money), but here we have young Hanna’s birthday prezzies: a Clothkits purse and pencil case. bet she’ll be the only young lady in Hamburg with these. am especially proud of (1) having worked out how to use the zip foot on the sewing machine, even if the seam is totally wonky, and (2) the upcycled lining: an old pillow case that cost €1 at oxfam. you get a better idea of the colours on the Clothkits page.

Clothkits! Awesome!

That is lurvely, but I mainly got sooooo excited to see the Clothkits label! All my clothes were Clothkits when I was little. I got so bullied for it but I love them anyway.

Bit disappointed that they don’t seem to have many clothes on there now, and what they do have is expensive, but they are pretty cool.

i read in the paper that they’d been bought up and relaunched. when i looked on the website a few months ago the selection was at most half the size it is now, so they seem to be expanding quite quickly. yes, it is all a bit spenny, though. apart from a few pencil case/hat kits, i bought myself a skirt kit that was going cheap b/c the printing wasn’t 100% perfect. mad really, i never wear skirts. i just want my childhood clothes back…

Me too, the clothes were so cool, half of the stuff I wore in 1979 I would gladly wear again now. My mum was delighted to see them back! I am half-tempted to buy a kit and get one of my more crafty friends to put it together for me.
