Get a literary agent (read all 2 entries…)
I would name this goal "Publish my novel"... 8 months ago

... but I’m going one step at a time. The novel (which was a subject of a previous goal here) is written and edited; it is ship-shape and ready. And, while reaching out to accomplish this goal, I continue to enjoy writing novel #2…

A book I found useful...

... was “The career novelist : a literary agent offers strategies for success” by Donald Maass.

It’s a very down-to-earth, realistic approach both to writing and the world of publishing.

Now, that’s assuming that your opus is a work of fiction; I haven’t checked into non-fiction. Good Luck!
