Missing Phils SO BAD!

So,

I have just returned from a trip to Philippines. I am 21 and the last time I went I was 12. I was much too young for the culture to have a massive impact on me, but DAMN this time it’s different.

Although I’m a ‘half-cast’ born and raised in Australia, I can honestly say I have never felt so at home like the way I felt when I was in Manila.

Once I arrived back in Sydney I cried for 3 days straight because I missed Philippines so much. Is this normal? Even now I avoid looking at the photos I took because it makes me miss it even more!

I’m dying to go back, if I didn’t have work, boyfriend, etc here I would drop everything and live there in a heartbeat.

Identical Dilemma

Hey Samantha,

My name is Mikey, and i have just read ure post title speak fluent tagalog and i must say i am in the exact same position as you were in about 8 months ago when u made ure post. I hav just recently returned from a stay in manila becoz i am also half pinoy and i hav been raised my whole life in australia but i must say i absolutely fell in love with the country this time round. Becoz the last time i visited manila was when i was 13 years old and currently am 19 years old and this time it made a huge impact on me. I just like u also felt sooo much more at home in manila and i also cried pretty much for 3 days straight when i returned bak home in sydney, australia. I myself would also do the same thing if only i cud drop everything and just move to my real home. I actually asked myself the same thing "is this normal" and finally i found someone also experience the same heartfelt situation and honestly im glad im not labelled "insane" for feeling the way i feel haha!! .. anyway just needed 2 let u know samantha that there was someone else out there with the strange exact same coincidental experience :) thanks for listening.. cyaz around..

Mikey..
