Absnasm is falling to pieces
By the fabulous Fred Dibnah.
When the late lamented Dibnah, national treasure and demolition expert extraordinaire, came to Leicester to knock down the huge Co-Op bakery tower, virtually the whole town turned up. I’m not kidding, it was like a carnival, with candy floss and a roundabout for the kiddies. I can’t remember the actual demolition very well, but I remember that the cloud of dust was smaller than I had expected, and kind of controlled in a relatively small area. Ah, Dibnah. The man was a genius. He knew an awful lot about steam trains too.
