when I am on “vacation.”

A couple of weeks ago, our hospital unit was closed due to low census. There were times we were given mandatory PTO. To prevent this, the health care system has invited us to train the newly opened hospital in the network. Although it cuts back my “vacation,” it is a perfect time to learn something new.

The reason I was taking vacation at this time was to go to Darling 3’s soccer tournaments. Saturday, I got a soccer mother’s sunburn, despite using SP 50 sunblock. Yesterday, I had my picture taken for my ID at the new hospital. This was bad timing for a sunburn. I did not like my hair in the picture either. So today, I put on makeup and got my hair cut short. Makeup is not my habit, but maybe I’m in for a change. I like the cut, and am having fun wearing makeup. Time will tell.

Trying a new look...

can be fun! And sometimes it’s amazing the difference a touch of makeup can make.

I generally make it a rule to always have my hair styled and at least base makeup and a little eye liner applied before leaving my house (although darn allergies prohibit me from wearing lipstick for now). So people are used to seeing me with just a little makeup.

One Saturday morning I had an 8am appointment with my hairdresser. I don’t know why I find it necessary to do my hair before I go see her, but I do. Anyway, this one Saturday I overslept and woke up in time to just roll out of bed, into some clothes and rush off to my appointment. No hair or makeup!

When my hairdresser saw me she looked at me in shock and said “WHAT HAPPENED??!!” Haha. I didn’t mean to scare anybody!
