We’ve tried the weekly thing before…and it’s just too hard to do that often so we usually end up frustrated and quiting. We’ve decided that we are going to shoot for once a month…alternating months as to who’s turn it is to plan it. June is going to be my month…I have a few possible ideas, but I’d love to hear suggestions…anyone have one?

i don't know you guys very well, but here are some ideas, hope they help!
nature is always fun!
what are his interests? sports? go to a game! even if its a local thing with a bunch of kids. get a picnic basket or some fast food or something fancy like order some sushi to go and go watch a little league game or something!
does he like guns or swords or bows and arrows? go to a range, hunting, fishing, or go browsing shops that sell these things. my husband is always up for trip to the gun store! even if its not your thing, if you can stomach your hubby catching you a fish and cooking it up or something, it’ll make him feel good.
does he like video/computer games? a man like this never says no to an arcade.
i dunno where you live, but check local listings for festivals and conventions. especially in the summer, there are so many car conventions, gaming, anime, sports, beer/alcohol… it all exists. these make for fun days.
is he an exercise freak? get a day pass for a gym or go biking, roller blading, or jogging out at a park or around town. my husband likes to lift weights, so when he’s home, he lifts me and we help each other do lots of resistance/yoga/weight lifting stuff all in one. its a lot of fun and very intimate! usually we’ll end up falling over, hysterical and exhausted.
like to be intellectual? a good at home activity is to find a book and deepen on it together. most often my husband and i grab religious texts. we’ll read a few passages and then discuss them, and with the internet and other books, try and define and further understand them. we’ll do it too with things like sociology and anthropology and psychology. its fun, stimulating, and you get to learn in a non-demanding sort of way.
creative? go to an art store or go around town and rummage for art supplies! whether its paints, a giant canvas, a bunch of scrap metal or clay for 3D work…. come up with an art project or a basic idea and go with it. once you have your stuff, make it together! one of my favorite art projects i ever did with my husband was a simple collage we made from cutting up magazines and stuff and putting it all together on card board. i was dying of laughter. we had an excellent time!
