purchased a new bicycle 5 months ago

I had started riding my old college mountain bike several weeks ago. I just LOVE bicycling. It is the most fun I have ever had exercising. Anyway, my old bike began to show the effect of years of neglect as the chain snapped, the rear freewheel (cogs) needed to be replaced, the rear wheel was cheaper to replace than fix the bent axle and new tubes and tires. I decided that instead of fixing that one right now (I still plan to fix it up) I would just get a new bike. I went a bit overboard but it is only 6 months membership to the gym so I think I will get my money’s worth. Now the wait until my size/color/model arrives next week!

I decided to drag a bike out of the garage about a month ago, and made a pledge to ride daily down my father-in-law’s long paved driveway, and do laps on the paved loop around his pole barn. It helped me get back into my old jeans from last summer. (Along with a better diet )That made me very happy.

I think it’s great that you have decided to go the yellow banana route with a new bike instead of brown banana fixing the existing one. I bought a new bike this year and I’m really happy with it too. I hope that you are as happy with yours and get much enjoyment out of it this summer.

297 miles

So far I have put 297 miles on the bike in 3.5 weekends. I lost 2 weekends right after I bought it doing some work for AnnieDee. Last weekend was a big one with a 26 mile ride on Saturday and a 50 mile ride on Sunday. I actually had to stop on the ride back and call for a pickup as my knee was starting to hurt. Of course I rode around in the parking lot while waiting. I didn’t want to end with 49.7 miles!

What kind of bike did you get? I may still fix up my old mountain bike and either let my son use that or use it when I want to ride on the shell trails (woodland trails made from crushed shells).
