Wish the Hawaii-Bound Carm an Unstressful, Uncluttered, and Well-Organized Birthday on May 28 (read all 2 entries…)
I had... 6 months ago

such a great 50th birthday. I got to celebrate in many wonderful ways:

  • a birthday cake my sister got for Mom and me the Monday before my birthday (Mom turned 85 a week after I turned 50)
  • wonderful birthday cards, emails and phone calls from friends and family
  • lovely birthday text messages from two of my nephews
  • some really thoughtful birthday gifts from friends and family
  • a fun yet relaxing Ride the Ducks adventure that included floating along in Lake Union
  • seeing the new Star Trek movie at the Cinerama the next day with Walter
  • going to a cello and piano concert at Town Hall Seattle courtesy of good friends Friday night
  • many wonderful birthday wishes from my special friends right here on 43T
  • a special birthday dinner with friends at Bahama Breeze Saturday night
  • Walter’s gift yet to come of an overnight trip to the ocean.

Thank you to my friends at 43T for helping to make this a birthday to remember!

Comments:

Sounds like you had a spectacular celebration

which apparently isn’t over yet. An overnight trip to the ocean should be just the thing to get you in the mood for your Hawaiian adventure.

Thank you, Carm, for including us in your celebration, it was FUN!

Aw thank you Flirt!

You are too kind. Yes it was pretty spectacular. I feel blessed indeed!

And thank you for reminding me – of course it’s not over yet! It’s not going to be over until after Hawaii!! I can’t believe I left that off the list.

I argued the ocean trip a little at first because of money (trying to save for Hawaii after all!). But ultimately I know it will be good to have a little time away from it all.

Fun, fun, fun!!!

It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday Carm. You deserve it too. You never cease to amaze me with how many things you are constantly doing to help other people.

I like the picture that you attached. You look very happy in it.

I really did

Thank you Russell! You are so kind. Did you notice the lei?? It is just like the one from you!

Of course

I see it now.

Now that I have my glasses back that is.

I know what you mean...

It’s something about that magic age of 40. I have had prescription reading glasses for a long time but I keep losing them. In the meantime when I want to read something especially small I lift up or take off my regular glasses and hold the paper close enough to my eyes that my Mom asks me “do you need a light on??”

Time for bifocals for me. I wore them 25 years ago when I really didn’t need them, but I think it’s time to go back.

It's tough to get old

But we all learn to adjust. It sounds like you’ve got the reading thing pretty well down.

Carm has gotten 18 cheers on this entry.
