I watched a doco on SBS recently about Willie Smits and his team in Indonesia who are working incredibly hard to free and rehabilitate orangutans (some from unimaginable conditions which made me cry—and wonder how we humans can do such horrible things), save their habitat, and try to educate and provide alternative livelihoods for the local community.
