In other postings, you’ll find that Alex asked me if she and I were moving back to California after the kids went off to college. I said, no, not likely.

I’ve told MrsBill that I intend to live and work in DC without her after our divorce by the time the kids are gone. She said, “that is two years away” ... interestingly, not, “how can you think of living without me?”

I’ve spoken to her family and my family about my plans: her sister, her father, her brother. I have told my father and my sister. My brother and other sisters will not be surprised.

I told my kids that it’s coming, but without details as to why of course, and vague about the timing, but certainly before they go off to college.

Mrsbill called me at my sister’s house in DC to ask “how dare you talk to the boys about us divorcing.”

I said, “so, you do want to live with me when the kids are gone because you love me?” She does not, of course, love me or want to live with me when the kids are gone. “That is not the point” was what she said.

It will not be a surprise that I am filing. The timing may surprise her.
