Man baayad baraaye zanam kafshe paraadaa bekharam.

Wow thanks.

Of course you can take me out to dinner, this weekend.

About a mile from where I used to live....

and where my Mom still lives, there used to be a restaurant called The Persian Paradise. I used to work there as a dishwasher, and my Dad worked there as a chef (though not at the same time.) The owner was from Iran. This was in a small town in northern Wisconsin, with a population of about 3,000 (including the townships).

Faustus is in unfamiliar territory!

Umm...

May I draw your attention to the underlying poetry of the language? :)

Two verses, 8 syllables each… the first 8 to form the basis (coming in 1, 2, 5), and the following 8 to deliver the message:

“Man
baa.yad
ba.raa.ye za.nam

kaf.she pa.raa.daa be.kha.ram”

You may tap your feet to get the rhythm right, if you wish :P

Mobaarak.

Caught in a lie. Happening a lot, recently.

Shaayad bebaramesh kafsh-forooshiyeh Payless.

Faustus is in unfamiliar territory!

:)

Payless? Well, now that you talked of it in public, you can’t :)

That is poetic, isn't it?

Especially the part about kafshe Praadaa. Brings tears to my eyes.

BTW, have you seen the video of the protesters in Shiraz singing to Ahmadinezhaad, “Mahmoud, aaberout raft?” THAT’s poetry.

Faustus is in unfamiliar territory!

It sure is.

Oh, yes, this one :) And the other one in the subway that Petersky posted a while ago.

Though I’d rather not give the government credit even for inspiring protest poetry!
