Instead of coloring with my box of one hundred and twenty crayons, I removed all crayons from the box and organized them by color. By the time that I had finished arranging them, I no longer wanted to color.

I was coloring recently too and I found the grownup in me creeping out when I demanded that my five-year-old coloring partner do it a “certain way”. Oh dear. I ended up apologizing and letting him do it however he wanted.
Wyatt is struggling.
It seems that coloring requires a certain degree of letting go of the (adult) desire to have control over everything.
