There is nothing better then knowing that, in a pinch, you can communicate the basics in a foreign language.

I know when I only had a month or so left to study my German before heading to Germany for a month, I focused on learning the formal tense of more verbs. I figured that is what I’d be using while there regardless. Learning a language is a fun and enriching task but overwhelming when finally confronted with a native speaker in their own country. ha!
