Get more sleep (read all 18 entries…)
Provisionally making it easier 5 months ago

Since I moved to Spain I am finding particularly difficult being in bed by 22:30. Everything here is made in such a way that no one seems to be sleeping before midnight.

Nothing wrong about that, but I still want to go to bed early and wake up early. Provisionally I will try to make this goal easier by setting my bedtime at 23:30. After achieving this, I will go back to my original goal, which is being in bed by 22:30.

Everyone sleeps so late in Spain because they take siestas!! Or afternoon naps ’.’ zzzzz I only know this because I’m latin and this is done often because its so hot during the day that all you can do is take a nap. Its also good for you. I understand not wanting to do that though, I don’t :P

You are right. However nowadays just a few people take siestas (mainly the elderly). I don’t see any of my colleagues having a nap. I am convinced Spaniards simply sleep less…

But apparently, according to some researchers, it is healthier for humans sleeping up to half al hour in the afternoon, than nighttime sleep alone.

Hahaha! Well check what time they wake up, that might be something? Are you in college? If so, don’t judge on how much the others sleep because well, college students aren’t the best in taking care of their health, but whose blaming them? They are busy.

I’ve heard that its healthier, I just don’t understand why though. I would do it if I could actually manage to wake myself up after 30 minutes….ahh that will remain my dream.
