Run 43 different routes (read all 27 entries…)
28. Rock Island 5 months ago

An unexpected new daily route, at least for the next month, maybe longer. Things on the home front have reached the point where I felt it was time to try moving out, at least temporarily, to get some perspective and just see how the change affects one and all. I have a friend who’s had her old house on the market but vacant since she moved soon after her remarriage, so I approached her about renting it and moved in yesterday. So this morning I ran my new Rock Island route for the first time – which is somewhat familiar, since I sometimes walk the river path here during lunch break or run here when I’m doing weekend distance runs. It was a beautiful morning, and I had a great time checking out the architecture on the way to the river, and even ran into an acquaintance who’s now a neighbor. It turns out I’m even closer to my beloved river bike path here than I am at my Moline house – cool. Here’s the Centennial Bridge, which is part of the great view on my new route.

~hopped~ Merry Christmas!!! :D

Great view!

My runs are a great time to head inward and I doubt if I’d even be able to fully enjoy the views you have on your running routes. Lately I lace up the shoes to pound out what frustrations I’ve experienced throughout the day and don’t pay much attention to what’s around me. So…I admire your ability to enjoy the world when you run.

Sometimes

I’m that way when I run, too – but even then I sometimes make a conscious effort to plug into the world around me, and if I’m able to, it can sometimes be just the needed therapy. Sorry you’re having a frustrating time. :(

hope things are working out for you

I have been contimplating a change as well. Be proud of yourself for being strong enough to innitiate change…..... any type of change is positive! :)

Thank you

so much for the encouraging words. Though I’m not really sure yet whether this change is/will be positive, God knows something needs to change in our family, and it seems I’ve already tried most everything else.

I don’t know what kind of change you’re contemplating, but I really wish you well in deciding exactly what to do and when to do it. Keep me posted.

DoubleN has gotten 7 cheers on this entry.
