contacted me a few days ago asking whether I still wanted to be Big Sister to my girl in the new school year – which, of course, I do! I’m glad she called; I was able to ask her about when the school year started and she said she’d call when they’re ready for me again – probably a week or two after school starts.

I'm not,

unfortunately. Since I am in the Lunch Buddy part of the program, it’s not required – but I had still hoped to see if I could see her at least once in a while through the summer. I sent an e-mail to my program contact at the end of the school year which went unanswered, and never followed up on it as I intended to, since I’ve been dealing with the latest family drama since June 2. It will be good to see her, and the other people at the school, when things start up again in mid-August, though.
