sleep in a hammock
I have the frame and an old fabric cocoon 5 months ago

but the cocoon has a broken strap so it can’t connect to the frame properly – so in order to sleep in this hammock I need to repair or make a new cocoon (I have no idea if you call the part you lay in a cocoon or not but I do!)

More of my stuff to do!

Sleep in a hammock

I traveled to Boracay Island in theP.I. several times. There was always a hammock on my bungalow’s lanai. The bungalow was $3 a night, the hammock priceless.

that cheer was from the heart

I’ve been researching hammocks. Then I walk over to the treehouse and mull over where one could go. Not on the lanais – too little space up so high.

But down below, another story! So many trees in the rainforest.

And really good news – the nylon hammock here at the house, hanging out in the forest dries really quick so this would actually work!

Next comes the neck craning bit, where I study the view from below… And picking colors. I love white, but hmmm the rainforest. Leaning toward copper at the moment.

What do you say?

hammocks

The hammock in the photo from Boracay was made of woven rattan, hard, unbending, yet comfortable in its firmness. The hammock in this picture is totally opposite, made of a nylon mesh. I bought it in Cambodia and haven’t had a chance to use it yet. My attempt to stretch it out to show it to you wasn’t very successful, but I hope you get the idea. I like your thoughts on color. Copper against green would make a beautiful contrast.

thanks for the input

I’ve been hung up on this for no reason whatsoever. Maybe because I was so drawn to white cotton before I thought it through.

Back when I was getting to know the man I am now married to, in an effort to help him get to know me, I told him that what I wanted more than anything was two trees I could hang a hammock between. Now I think what I’m after is the hammock we can lie in together. Things have not changed a whole lot in all this time!

Under the Boracay sky

As I said, I’d been to Boracay many times. My last trip was on my honeymoon. My wife and I lay in the hammock together looking at the sky and tree tops at dusk as fireflies flickered in the fronds, an image and memory I will forever hold dear.
