He sent me text messages everyday for the last couple of days. He’s away right now and might only be back by end August.

Our messages are pretty casual – books we’re reading, the weather, stuff at work etc. But I think it’s best that we keep it this way for now. Immediate goal is to keep him interested and all comm links open!
