Types of sign language

There are many different types of sign language. Here is a bit about a few of them:

BSL (British Sign Language): I don’t know BSL, but as I understand it, it’s different from any of these others
FSL (French Sign Language)
Signed English: A mixture of ASL and other signs. Uses English word order. Sign for the language name is “English”.
ASL (American Sign Language): Originally derived from French Sign Language, but it has changed quite a bit. There is still some intercommunication possible: I once talked to a couple from Switzerland using FSL and we did ok. Uses a rather free functional (object+operation) type of word order rather than English word order.
