Report: 04.08.09 4 months ago

I bought two new tyres
(folding bead) that were
on sale at the local shop.

I threw my old Michelin’s
away and took the new Bontragers
for a 25K ride. I was flying
down a hill at about 60km and
ZAP! a yellowjacket got in my
jersey and stung me about an
inch under my right nipple – ouch.

I finally stopped and pulled the
squirming bee and its stinger &
poison sac out of me and engaged
in some creative cursing and rode
home.

25km
21 ounces water
3rd bee sting on bike
this year so far – not
as bad as the one right by
my left eye.

My husband has been stung many times on the bike. Me, never – thank goodness, because I’m allergic.

Aren't you the stoker?

He stops the bugs, right?

yeah but

even when riding singles, he somehow scoops them up in his jersey while I remain unscathed.
