I’m pretty sure I was ten when I decided I wanted to write a book. Now almost 7 years later I’ve done a lot of writing, from little short stories posted on fictionpress, to fun fanfic on fanfiction.net, to essays and reports for school, but what I really want is a full length novel, one of my own.

About a week ago I decided that I AM going to do this. I have already set a deadline for my first draft, Oct. 24, 2009. I plan to write 1000 a day, so if all goes according to plan I should be done by my deadline.

Why have I chosen this deadline? well first of all I need motivation, and the key to keeping yourself going is to have a goal in mind. Secondly I’m so obsessed with becoming a novelist that I am planning on participating in NaNoWriMo this year, and if I finish my current novel a week before NaNoWriMo I’ll have a week to plan, relax, and buy a new coffee pot.

I’ll keep you updated on how my writing is going and expect my milestones and minor goals to change because I’ve never done this before, never wrote my own novel, so I really don’t know how to plan this. Wish me luck and lets hope I get the proper caffeine intake over the next three months.
