beat trichotillomania
Oh geez... 4 months ago

Well I’ve been struggling with this since about 7th or 8th grade… which is when my family moved from one place to another.

I’m almost 23 now… so I guess I’ve had this for about… 10 years.

Sucks, right! I am blessed to have a best friend who has it too. We’ve been best friends since 5th grade and she’s pretty much my rock when it comes to this thing. My husband thinks my hair is beautiful too… even though it is pretty damaged on top. I’m really blessed to have them.

Sooo for the most part… I do ok. I’ll pull a few every-now-and-then… and then go a while w/o pulling. It’s definately related to anxiety and stress.

I just lost my job 2 days ago and am determined to not let trich get the best of me as I go thru this new obstacle. As for my head… I really only pull from the crown of my head. Thankfully I’ve been able to pull my hair half back all my life and no one can tell… but I’d really like to not have to do that again. I’m pretty envious of the girls who can wear a center part… I’ve never really been able to.

Sooo if anyone has any tips of tricks that they know of pass them this way. I’ll try and update you all on how i’m doing every few days.

Same for me..

I wish I could part my hair right down the middle. In fact, I can’t part my hair at all. A singly pony tail is what I’ve been forced to use for years. Or a bandana tied in my hair, or a hat. And that’s it. Those girls who always say,”Oh, I’m just having a bad hair day”....THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT A BAD HAIR DAY IS!!!!....Let alone to have that bad hair day everyday for 8 whole years!!!!!!
