try surfing
Is boogie-boarding at all like surfing?

When I was 8 or 9, my family took a vacation to Florida and I had the opportunity to go boogie-boarding in the Atlantic Ocean.

I loved it, and ever since I have wanted to do it again and to try surfing.

I am pretty sure that I would not be able to surf successfully, but I at least want to try it.

i gotta say...

surfing is an everyday thing. if you want to get the joy and pure bliss of the surfing experience that makes them keep going back to the waves: spend one entire summer surfing, you will love it. but it takes more than one time to get the hang, or even stand up once.

my advice to you is get out there. start on med size waves, get some speed and when you feel that its caught you, pop up as fast as possible. popping up gets better with practice (you can practice popping up on the shore). and you’ll start to stand up earlier and be able to read the waves better the more you go.

when you get frustrated, just stop for a bit and enjoy the beauty of the ocean! its a magical experience without surfing. (but the board gives you a new kind of connection).
