write more songs (read all 2 entries…)
Garageband creations 4 years ago

i have been working with GarageBand (an Apple application for creating music) for awhile now, but since starting my full-time job, have had less time to actually work on creating new songs. i have a few in-progress works that i would like to finish, plus lots of ideas for new songs just waiting to be recorded.

several of my friends and co-workers have encouraged me to create new songs because they like what i have made in the past… but i am such a perfectionist i often get disillusioned with what i have started to create and i give up. i think i need more positive encouragement. or perhaps i need to find others who i can work with who can help me, or who i can help.

Garageband rules!

I never hear anybody talking about Garageband, but I simply love it. I’m smart enough to get around in Protools, Cubase or Digital Performer, but those programs have always been overkill for me. When I’m writing tunes I really don’t want all the functionality that they offer. That’s why I fell in love with GB—it’s playschool protools.

I wrote about 6 songs for our new album using Garageband and it was the most useful tool ever. I hear that GB 2.0 will be released at Macworld this month in San Fran.

Yeah!! I love GB for the same reasons, and I can’t wait for GB 2.0! Whee!

I’d like to hear your stuff… Do you post your GB creations online? I found the site where you can share your GB creations, http://macidol.com/ but haven’t posted any of my stuff… I should do that.

P.S. for some reason your hyperlink to your new album didn’t come thru in the email notification… d’oh—sorry! thanks for sharing your site. :)

I’ve never even tried garageband cause i installed pro tools as soon as i got my mac… i thing i’ll have to give it a go. (i’m a bit stuck for inspiration at the mo.)

Buster Benson I need more goals.

I love garageband too!

Let’s hear one of these songs that you’ve written. If you put up an mp3 somewhere I’ll post one of mine too (mine suck though).

We’ve got a few aspiring (in the true sense of the word) GarageBand artists here at the 43 things office…

my GarageBand creations are here:

Awesome! Great work.

I mostly use Garageband now for capturing live music ideas (guitar/drums/bass).
