secondmercedes CHAMPIONS PLAN

Best Month Ever: September 2009
My Plan to Make September The Best Month Ever!

My plan is simple. Find joy in each day and a reason to keep going every day. I suppose I’ve done that thus far in the month of September. It’s only been 4 days.

Today, I have the Blanton Museum of Art B Scene Museum party to look forward to. I will eat, drink a blantini, and dance like the fun lil maniac that I am.

Tomorrow, I have a 10.5 mile run to look forward to. I will follow that run up with a trip to the veloway where I will take my wonderful road bike for a few glorious loops around the car free zone.

Sunday, I have an amazing yoga class with Zoe to look forward to. Then, I may head over to try a hula class at the Ballet studio. After that, it’s time for grilling with friends. I hope to make a margarita for the first time in my “new to me” margarita glasses!

Monday, I have a triathlon. It will be my second Olympic distance triathlon. I’m so ready I can taste it. I will enjoy a beer afterward and probably have an ice cream sandwich. Then I will head again to a wonderful batch of yoga classes because Labor Day in Austin means free day of yoga at every studio! It’s quite wonderful.

Tuesday I have lunch with Rebecca to look forward to. We’re going to my favorite veggie heaven haunt just down the street – Bouldin Creek. I’m opting for the veggie burger which is my absolute favorite treat. Tuesday night I’ll walk my dog to the gelato place and get my favorite gelato there – Mediterranean Sea Salt all by myself. It will feel good to do something for just me. [secret note to self: you only get the gelato if you place in the top 10 in your age group in the triathlon]

Wednesday I have a long bike ride with the Austin Flyers planned. It is so much fun to go out with girls only. I really enjoy it. Hopefully I can convince my friend Jennifer or Rebecca to come. We’ll probably go close to 30 miles. Then dinner with the special afterward.

Thursday I have a tempo run and a surprise date that I am planning for my special. She won’t be aware of it (or maybe I’ll hint) until later in the week).

Friday I am off of work and organizing the United Way Day of Caring. Me and a few of my coworkers will be beautifying a garden/museum and helping people with disabilities create a mural. It is going to be a fun day. Hopefully, we will get Jimmy John’s [a guilty favorite sub shop of mine] for lunch! Friday night I just might treat myself to a drink at the Paggi House to celebrate the end of the madness that is Day of Caring planning and organizing.

Then Saturday, I’ll run a 25K and then we will be whisked off somewhere wonderful for a few days where I won’t have to worry about a thing except what I’m going to eat next.

Saturday through Wednesday will be worry free and quite taken care of. I will broach the rest of September soon.
