It took me a week and felt like a process of ‘one step forward, two steps back’ because I kept making mistakes and ripping out rows to start over again.
In the end, it was a great learning experience. I have a new hat to match my scarf and more importantly, I have a new skill! I’m already working on my second hat. :-)

Wow I take my knitted hat off to you, that’s one thing I’ve never attempted. I’ve made arm warmers and even cabled them but the thought of turning a heel just brings me out in a cold sweat. Good luck.

is really fun! Turning the heel takes a tiny bit of concentration and counting. If in doubt, put your stitches on a string or on the flexible part of two circular needles, and try on the sock-in-progress, and you can see how it fits! Go for it!
