Become NEARLY self sufficient (read all 88 entries…)

... very, very, challenging weather, I have managed to plant up my spring/summer crops.

All my potatoes, raspberries and strawberries have been placed into apple crates above very water logged ground.

My vegetable garden has been planted up with :
  • tomatoes
  • basil
  • capsicums
  • varieties of beans
  • parsnips
  • beetroot
  • zucchini
  • pumpkin
  • broccoli

for now that will do until I get some more bins into place. Fingers crossed that these all survive this crazy weather!

I hope your garden

grows everything you want in abundance…
Which I’m sure it will, given your super-powers and everything. :)

I hope so too Solena...

... I am definitely going to need amazing super powers to get everything growing in this very sodden ground ;-)

Here's to hoping

your garden will be a success as mine was this summer (well, it’s technically my mum’s garden, but I was the one looking after it and it brought me so much pleasure. And fine meals!)

On a different note: I wanted to tell you I love how you set very specific and achievable goals for yourself – It’s something I need to learn how to do, my goals are too vague for me.

Thankyou...

... what a lovely kind thing to say, and I’m so pleased you had bountiful crops :)

Let me tell you, my Self Sufficiency goal has been challenging to say the least, the past 2 years or so. We hardly had any water in our dams over the previous couple of summers, and now the ground is unbelievably soaked, that we are literally walking on water…!

Mother Nature is a complex force sometimes ;-)
