I want to become a reflexologist

I am 38 years old and have just quit my office job that I was in for almost 10 years. I need to find another job to pay my bills, but thought of getting stuck in a rut again sends shivers down my spine. I also have a desire to live by the sea and have thought about selling up, renting somewhere, which would bring my cost of living down and therefore I wouldn’t have to work a full week. With the rest of my time I could train. Does anybody think this is a really dumb idea?

Follow your dreams

Why is it dumb? It sounds cool to me. You know what you want, which is the hardest part. Now you go get it! I’m half way through a reflexology course, and I’m loving it. Apparently it’s getting more and more popular, and is gathering more respect from Western Medicine as well, so soon we will very much be in great demand.

go for it !

where do you live, Elca? I’m a brit now living in Florida, and have wanted to do this for a while. I just got handed a great opportunity – someone else’s reflexology clients, as she is moving out of the country and doesn’t want to let her clients down. a week later I was on a course (end of jan 2007). on Wednesday I take the final 6 day course, hopefully pass the test, and start earning $60 an hour, on MY time, MY schedule…. I have super qualifications in Administration but can’t even get $12 an hour, so $60 is awesome AND it’s something I’ll love… and ‘ll be my own boss with no overheads.

I HATE school and haven’t been for years (I’m in my 30’s) – it’s a struggle for me, but the training is quick and the rewards amazing. contact me if you need support or info! DO IT ! :)

Florida training

Hello,

I just got out of hospital (knee surgery that gave me blood clots and pulmonary embolism, severely depressed and scared out of my mind. Doc recommended i check into reflexology and I LOVE it. Thing is, I live in St Augustine,FL and don’t see any schools/trainings available in the area.
Can you please advice where I need to start looking?

Thanks
