I can see the value in shared goal listing, it’s fun to read and navigate, but for me to get value out of this, I feel that I’d have to be really honest about myself and my goals – and I’m undecided as yet whether this is something I want to have on public display yet. There are various reasons – some involve embarrassment, others involve fear of others doing something before me, etc. I’ve still not found my own balance of public/private – maybe that’s why I’m such a lousy blogger (my most interesting entries are by far the most personal, and they are few and far between.)
Comments:
Buster Benson I need more goals.
We had private goals...
but we took them out for now. In the first prototype, none of us really used them (though, part of that could be because there were so many bugs and we were digging around in the database that it didn’t really feel safe to document our secret and embarrassing goals). I think they’ll eventually be making an appearance again, but only if people say they want it.
By the way, cool to see you here Amazon Lyrics Amazon News. :) How are things going in Boston?
I think it would be interesting
to add private goals and have the overall impact be visible by the public. i.e. Display the number of private and public goals as well as the number of private goals that have become public.
I’d like to know if private goals become public over time as someone’s confidence level builds about the goal and/or it’s just the right time to engage with others about it.
