I'm 17 and vow to never be selfish and have kids! 2 months ago

Am I the only one who thinks it’s selfish to bring a child into a world full of pain & suffering? Those people who abuse their children, give them up for adoption or have an unwanted teen pregnancy make me so damn sick to my stomach! I went through abuse all throughout my childhood and I got bullied every single day at school. No way in hell would I ever put a child through that let alone my own flesh and blood. I’m doing my unborn kids a favour by not having them at all. Oh and overpopulation is already a problem!

What happened to wanting three children? :( The child’s World doesn’t have to be one of pain and suffering if the mother’s there to prevent it. From what I’ve read, you sound like a great person and I think you’d be a great mother. I’m not just saying that either. ^^

Also, I’m sorry that you got bullied at school. :/ You didn’t deserve it… no one does.

I wrote that entry almost 3 years ago when I was having this fantasy little dream of mine finding a man, having kids and living happily ever after. Life isn’t a damn fairytale. I’m seeing it for what it really is. A living hell! If people really cared about their kids they wouldn’t of had them to begin with. They would of said no and saved their kids a lifetime of misery. People are just so selfish. Look at those people having like 8 kids. So selfish….

Your dream is far from a fairytale, Amanda. Many people have found themselves a nice partner, got married and have had children with that person. It’s not as if every parent in the World has miserable kids.

Look, if you focus so much on the negatives and refuse to focus on the positives, of course life will seem like a living hell.

Oh and… please don’t take my comment the wrong way. I’m not trying to force you to have children or anything xD I’m just trying to make a point. :]

sigh You’re so young & I doubt you even know about the birds and bees. When you are older you will see things from a different perspective. You better prepare to have all your dreams shattered. You have no idea what it’s like in the real world. Once you leave school, trust me reality is gonna hit you hard and your going to look back at this and actually agree with me.

Please don’t underestimate me simply because I’m young. Trust me, I know quite a lot about the ‘birds and the bees’ already. Also, I’m pretty sure I know what it’s like in the real World. I know that life isn’t all ponies and rainbows, but I also know it isn’t all pain and suffering.

With all due respect, I doubt I’ll agree with you. In life, you’re going to run into problems, though that is no reason to have such a negative perspective.

Anyway, I was just trying to help out a little. But if you wish to continue to perceive life in such a negative way, then do so. I apologize if I sound rude, by the way.
