Nyquil to the rescue!
With my job, I had been averaging 2-4 hours of sleep each day this week. I was becoming a bit depressed. Now, I have a wee bit of a cold, too.
Taking a dose of Nyquil has helped me to catch up on sleep, and I’m feeling much more with the program today!

: ( I’m sorry you’re not sleeping. What about 1 mg of Melatonin (especially only one if work is not allowing you too much sleep time). It is over the counter and cheap and I think it works wonders…. especially sublingual ones… they dissolve under the tongue and get right into the blood stream that way. I’m so sorry you aren’t feeling great. The one I have also has B3 vit in it- B3 vitamin deficiency can lead to insomnia. Feel better!!

I think I’ll give melatonin try. My Nurse Practitioner recommended melatonin, but it did not work for me at the time she recommended it. I take supplemental B vitamins, and will investigate this possibility, also. Yesterday, I slept fairly well during the day and worked last night. Today, I slept for only 4 hours. I have to work tonight, 7p-7a. Hopefully, I can catch up with my sleep tomorrow.
Can you take
Tylenol PM or Advil PM? If not, can you take benedryl? That helps. Hope you catch some zzzzs soon!
How I managed to sleep
Getting myself into strict a routine helped me to sleep after 4 years of 3 hrs max. per night.
I made the decision to have a bath at 10pm followed by a hot drink and go to bed with a meditation cd playing (or on my i pod).- I had light outs, no books, no tv and no laptop in the bedroom. On the nights it didnt happen I didnt worry I just started again the very next night then suddenly…it worked.
I hope you too find a way
Good sleep habits are important
Thanks for all your good suggestions, NannyDragon. I work 13 hour night shifts 3 times per week. Then I try to lead a normal life the other 4 days/nights. It is bad for the sleep but works okay for my family.
Keep up the good sleep habits. You will benefit now and in the future.
