It is quite an eye opener when you are one of the more sober people at a party.
I don’t want to be that girl anymore.
I don’t want to stop drinking but right now my alcohol intake is ridiculous. And I can’t handle it and I don’t know when to stop.
ColditzJB is standing on the edge of an existential crisis & enjoying the view.
Maybe take a break from drinking altogether? It’s always better to drink too little than too much. If you get that kind of insight from one party, imagine what you could learn over a couple weeks. Knowing when to stop is hard after you’ve already started. If you’ve noticed that, then you already know the benefits of not taking those first couple drinks sometimes. If taking a full-stop break is out of the question, then you might want to ask yourself why.
Anyway, if you are worried about how much you drink, then you’re already doing a good thing by questioning it. If drinking too much becomes a pattern, then you might want to take a step back for a better view.
“Drinking is only a problem if you make it one.”
Cheers,
Thanks so much for your reply :)
As much as I hate to admit it, you make a good point.
I’ve started drinking a lot less and can stop myself before I get in a really bad state.
Generally its made everything a lot better and I’m not having to appologise to multiple people the next day.
But as for not drinking at all… thats been a bit of a struggle. Didn’t drink last night, which was fine until I ended up at a party where everyone else was pissed.
Made me realise how insecure and uncomfortable I am with myself without drink.
A big step forward will be realising building some self confidence is the answer, not more alcohol.
Thanks again :)
