Right now, due to my knee injury, this goal isn’t an immediately approachable one. I need to get my MCL back in working condition before I can even think about deadlifting. All I know is that it’s my favorite lift and has always been my true test of health. My PR is 415 lbs. from Summer 2008 (the best lifting time of my life). I know I can get to 500 lbs. The 415 was tough, but I didn’t have to alter my diet or sleep patterns very much to get it that high, that’s just where I stopped before plateauing a bit. Lifting isn’t an easy situation now, because I don’t live with my parents (or have access to my weights and their basement) anymore, and I have to pay for gym fees. When factoring in my knee injury now and the time it should take me to get fully back on track, I’d like to hit this PR by the end of 2010. It’s a long way off and there’s a lot of work to be done until then, but I can get it.
